downtown: there are places you will step your feet
coming out you will loose your skin.

places where police are having fun petrifying their people
places where you scream and the echoes fall flat
at times it becomes dust that blinds your eyes

downtown: places that are raw materials, that can build
a poem has become a language that has lost its meaning

downtown: places where mosquitoes send you to barren
war on your body; they gift this poet few minutes madness
landing on pages of her book

downtown nighttimes for downtrodden is a decade of fear
fear of what might usurp your skin leaving you skeletal
fear of a language that tells you to put your dinner
towards faith but not in your stomach

downtown: places where bickering boys breaks shops
in daytime and police lament on their safety
