MY LECTURERS AND I
This has been bothering me right from the days of yore. I have suffered more than Job because my lecturers, especially Dr Samson wont let me be. He deliberately failed me because I refused to grease and wet his sexual appetite. I thought all was a joke till he invited me to his house.
“Why are you being stingy with God’s blessings on you, Glory” he managed to utter out of shame when I restricted and blocked his third move on my boobs.
“Don’t you know I am like your God here, without my consent, you can’t pass my course” He adjusted his wristwatch, stealing a glance at it.
“But sir, I wrote it very well and you gave me F. The question was very simple, I answered them very correctly sir” My voice was already shaking but the beast wouldn’t even show a sign of pity or sympathy.
“I have told you what to do but you are just being too adamant and stubborn. Every lecturer has his or her own price. Dr Fatai is all about money. Give him money and you will pass. Dr Ojo is after your money and also your body. Dr Salima wants nothing, her own joy and delight is in your failure. As for Mrs Salaudeen, she would prescribe books for you and that doesn’t guarantee your success, so tell me, who do you think has your interest at heart?” I looked at the devil before me with my mouth moving but words weren’t coming out. I was caught in between labyrinth, I can’t afford to carry this course again. I remembered my dangling GP and what I stand to gain if I give this man what he wanted but the flesh is willing but the spirit was not. “Sir, I am on my period, it will be a risky to try such sir and besides, I am into a serious relationship sir, please understand me” My voice was already breaking but he was busy pressing his phone.
“When you are ready, you come. Don’t come to my office or house to come and beg. If you want to prove smart, I will make sure you spill over. Now make use of the exit door and close it gently.”
His words came like two sharpened edged sword that slaught my throat and heart.
I walked out of his house without even feeling my legs. It was too hard for me to bear alone but there was no shoulder to cry on.
Just like he said, I carried the course again.
Well, don’t be surprised, a lot has been happening in this our campus. Carry over is like a course on its own, you can’t approach lecturers anyhow because they have made themselves demi gods, untouchable and sacrosancts.
This is just about Dr Samson, I will tell you about Mrs Salaudeen, the one that sells carry-over ticket.
Till I cross your path again-
I hang my pen 🖋
