APOSTLE OF APOSTASY
This day, beneath my tears
Did I truncated throngs of thirst
Giving me dim and nebulous
Hope about untold morrow.
Don’t judge my waggling legs
But give my patience a blame-
Hold my hopes hampered
But release this heart to slay.
I’m done like John Donne-
From dusk doth undone
But done in this dusk with
Dud a donation from dawn.
My Hallelujah is fade-
Fade fade each praise I take.
Take me to the merry gate-
Gate where all is welcomed to stay.
Call the devil out this once-
And set the room for us.
Allow me tell him my problems-
He will mercy give, unlike God.
But if there be God to answer-
Why my case special a case?
If there be God to harken-
Why will my shadow begone?
If there be God to embrace
Why no grace to race the race?
If heavens be true to His word
Why my deep pocket uncured.
Permit me taste the riches
Of hades! And if I die, I die.
Free me to free myself-
I am the forgotten promise of Jah.
But before I stray to pleasure-
Show me a sign you are alive.
If not for me, to your servants-
For in you, I still trust and believe.
Ere I turn an apostle of apostasy-
Move mightly, mending messes.
If not of me, of believers in you-
Thence I trace my way back home.
But if your hand will no mercy share-
I will lick the boils of Beelzebub-
And tap current from its riches.
I need life, not a hope to live.
I stand at bay watching-
Learning the language of my ink-
Learning how to handle my pen.
