(Happy World Poetry Day)
Chased to the mud, lone and lonely_
Tossed and baked sardonically
With words preserved for the guilty.
Deserted and mocked for its gentility_
Inflatus afflatus and imperative prosperity_
A word which breeds and fosters humanity.
Like change changed Nigeria_
Your aberrant unprecedented attitude became malaria
To the myopia_
We gently and haltingly vomit your material_
Till it lost its efficacy and criteria.
We buried you in tin air, truncated career.
Alone to disintegrate and wither away_
Alone guiding the sages the right way_
To bless souls and save the strayed_
Pointing clear a swing swayed_
To caress the heart of man all the way_
Lo and behold! its impact is felt today.
Unquenchable muse and inspiration
To the lost children of education.
An apotheosis of emulation_
To the obedient peons in question
Who tapped from your keg of wisdom.
Today you are proclaim lord among your brothers_
You bought the house with limerick orders_
Ode, euphoria and lullaby did canvas
Sonnet alone in the center
They filled the mouth of olden haters_
Long live poetry, reign beyond universe_
Make me more bleed till the whole world surrender
I stand at bay watching_
Learning the language of my ink_
Learning how to handle my pen 🖋
