HOMELESS NOT HOPELESS (A POEM WRITTEN BYABDUL GANIU AJIBOLA BELLO (CRYING PEN)

HOMELESS NOT HOPELESS

Oshodi, under bridge, oshodi
Our anthem we yell everyday,
Our source of livelihood we call it,
Thugs you call us.

Underneath the staircase
Where you trod everyday,
We’ve pitched our tents
With planks and rags.

We have ourselves a home
At the market square,
You will find us there
We’ve pitched our tents everywhere,
We’re intellectually deprived
We’ve read in-depth the fine print
But life has it’s toil on us.

We’re homeless not hopeless,
View us not with the left eye
But that which you view yourselves
For we’re homeless not hopeless.
