I QUIT (A poem written by Penwizzola)

I’ve gagged to feign,
I’ve blazoned out pain,
I’ve adorned the light to sorrow.
I’ve sang beautifully and groaned,
Now, I quit.

I thought I could grease my pencils;
I thought I could reason like artists-
I thought I could draw too.
How I cherished to iron my cloth
But, my clasp was no super Ox.
Now, I quit.

I’d hope in stars
To grin during nights,
But they crawfish out their lights
And drew me blank.
Now, I quit.

I’d made peace with darkness
Whence I sought happiness ,
But he defiled the oath
And rendered to dust the toast.
Now, I quit.

I’d agreement with islands:
Sky and trees; my witnesses
But I was honoured with dry lands
And dust feted by joyful breeze.
Now, I quit.

I’d closed my eyes to see my dream;
Dream of tomorrow I envisioned with envy,
I watched as it sailed the ocean,
I wouldn’t draft a failed mission.
Now, I quit.

Veins were dead to pose with me,
Blood went fiendishly fiendish,
Bones retreated from reporting to duty,
Flesh shrieked from enjoying beauty.
Now, I quit.

I quit because I have to !
I quit because I can’t sip more!
My heart and soul are going too…
But my body is too heavy; and can’t be taken along.
Now, I quit.
