I kept running
As if I wouldn’t pause,
I kept running
But fell many times.

I kept running
Day and night
The sun passed by
And the rain poured down, yet, I kept running.

I kept running
As they stared like lions
Hungry to devour me,
A lame doe.

I kept running
As my pen poured out its ink,
A tiny light, far beyond the stars
Shone as I kept running.

I kept running
To meet other poets
And tread the right path
Although my muse seemed weak.

Silently, persistently, without a word,
I kept running
Like one escaping from the sword
Eager to become a player of words.

I kept running,
The world seemed to be filled with poets.
I kept running
So I wouldn’t lose track.

My pen bled,
My head hurt,
Despite all those,
I kept running.

I aspire to be a poet,
The type that curbs pains,
The kind that touches hearts,
That poet who makes the world a better place,

I made it,
I’m now a poet
Set to make the world a better place.
