THE INEVITABLE (A POEM WRITTEN BY MOJISOLA JOSEPHINE).

*THE INEVITABLE*

I had a dream last night.
Yes, I had a dream.
Could it be a premonition?
‘Cause so it seemed.
In my dream, myself I saw,
Stuck between two logs of wood.
I had a dream.
Could it be a premonition?

Wedged between two logs of wood,
A friend turned for stood near.
Watching with savage laughter,
And her help, she withheld.
With brimming eyes I pleaded.
She stood her ground and wouldn’t bulge.
I had a dream last night.
Could this be a premonition?

There I remained, awaiting help.
Which seemed to clearly elude me.
While logs snuffed life out of me,
I felt body and soul parting.
With the thought that yonder I go,
I woke up with a start.
I had a dream last night.
Could this be a premonition?

Shaking and sweating profusely,
I beheld my fate.
Is this my end?
Has death finally overtaken me?
Oh! Baba mi.
Oh! Maami.
Mo la ala kan moju.
Se kin se akosile leleyii?
