THE VOICE REVIEW OF I SURRENDER ALL

THE VOICE REVIEW OF I SURRENDER ALL BY JUDIASKY

I SURRENDER ALL.

The bite of bees
Is the sweetness of its honey_
No tale is sweeter than the tale of war_
For therein, peace is cherished.
I am made ready for this quest_
And so, I surrender all.

If my time will cease evil
And rewrite the future of today
To the desire of voices on the streets_
If my time will tick and tock
Down the ears of execrable men_
Then I surrender all.

If my love will heal their wound_
The wound of those in cloth of Desmodia
Whose heart are sealed from true love.
If my love will mend broken hearted
And convalescence their scars_
Then a surrender all.

If my sword is still sharp
To pierce the heart of Pharoah
To ‘let my people go’_
If my sword can blade and blend
the deeds of Jezebel_
Then I surrender all.

If my voice is still ethereal and angelic
To lift up the voices of men
To the Holy one of Zion_
If my voice is still a healer
To the dispirited and blue faces_
Then I surrender all.

If my wealth is the way
To make the day glamorous
And call street thugs to order_
If my wealth is able
To disable idleness and crisis
Then I surrender all.

If my bleeding pen is the remedy
To the flaming corruption
And faceless foes in mask_
If my bleeding pen is capable
Of telling the mind of the just_
Then I surrender all.

If I can be the sacrificial lamb
And heal the land wetted with blood
And the perspiration of Paupers_
If I can be the sacrificial lamb
To exchange the bought glory of man_
Then I surrender all.

I surrender all_
My time, my love and sword
For the betterment of my people.
I give myself away
So they can live_
I surrender all!

Pathetic and breathtaking.
Though predominated with pity.

*Content analysis*
The persona speaking in the poem is faced with a lot of maim firstly meted by war, and social vices. He is willing to put an end to those ills irrespective of how they happened, who and who caused those wars and ills.
He is a clarion call voice of peace, unity, harmony. In fact, he believes in the saying; “let the sleeping dog lie” and let there be peace again after the pain, “if my love will heal their wounds…”.
He(speaker) resurfaces again with fury, to fight to the finish in ” piercing the heart Pharaoh” who has been holding people to ransom, unrest and causing harm to the innocents.
The speaker is that of our Nnamdi Kanu??? who protests against marginalisation, oppression and quash charges in Niger area??‍♀
The persona succumbs to whatever cost, or price it will take to restore freedom, sanity, peace, free living and lack of oppression, he’s ready to pay it.
“If I can be the sacrificial lamb” denotes and still connotes total surrender☹

This poem begins with a solemn voice of arsh thunder, that strikes into the heart of social criticism. Bringing out the taste of this poem, the imagery, diction, and real sensation of it,it throws the need for us to behind war and swallow peace. On the long run,the poem attacks leaders in a diverse ways; telling them their need to bring back the broken promises enacted from the tears of our father’s skin. Because, we are moving towards the end of life, the season is no more a little boy walking into empty grave, but a boy lost inbtween his mother’s thighs.
