APATHY AND RACISM BY EFFIONG GODSWILL

APATHY AND RACISM
Our wars are yet to be over
We face hardship with hunger
Held up by the whips
and caprice of colours

The Pianos play out tunes
Of political desires
How the drums are compelled to follow it’s
tune

They send bombs to
our mothers
From jet
we suffer affliction

So strong the drums have been
that they are not interested in the political powers of the piano

Our children ask the mother
When will we wear trousers?
When will i stop sucking the succulent breast of yours?
